LAUNCH OF RAICES CYBER ORG

VETERAN CYBERSECURITY PRACTICIONER LAUNCHES NEW NONPROFIT, RAICES CYBER ORG

PHILADELPHIA, PA August 22, 2021 – Earlier this month, US Army Veteran and Internationally recognized Cybersecurity Practitioner, Eric Belardo, launched Raíces Cyber Org; a Hispanic Association in Cyber Security and Technology (HACS) to Support the Latino, Latina, LatinX, and Hispanic Community. Raíces is a fiscally sponsored 501(c)3 Nonprofit. Headquartered in the Philadelphia, PA, area, this rising organization aims to provide educational, networking, employment, and representational support to its members both locally & globally.

The new organization is composed of a growing team of talented volunteers with skills in business, cyber security, and education. Raíces’s team of professionals, currently in over 10 states and 4 countries, will develop custom strategies to support the community.

“Our mission is to be recognized as a trusted global organization by providing reliable cybersecurity education and support to our growing base of Hispanic Cyber Defenders,” stated Eric Belardo, Executive Director and Founder, “Our aim is to proactively identify & support the Latino and Hispanic community which currently stands at only 4% of the total workforce in cybersecurity in the USA, this needs to change!”

Eric Belardo recently provided speeches on understanding today’s threats with IOTs and mobile devices, at the ISACA South Florida 3rd Annual GRC, a conference for IT executives in the private and public sectors. As well as a presentation to the Association of Continuity Professionals on Cyber Business Resilience in Orlando, FL. Eric is also the author of Introduction to AI and the Security professional’s guide to securing AI for ISC2.
