Meet Raíces Bremerton/SeaTac

  • Michael Refuerzo

    CHAPTER DIRECTOR

    Michael Refuerzo is a native of Cleveland, TN. After completing High School at Bradley Central, he joined the U.S. Navy in 2003. His duty locations include Groton, CT, Naples, Italy, Norfolk, VA, and Silverdale, WA. He has served onboard 3 classes of submarines and various shore facilities as an Information Systems Technician. Most recently he is serving onboard the USS Jimmy Carter as a System & Network Administrator for 2 classified networks and also serves as the Information System Security Manager for the same systems.

    As a 3rd generation Mexican-American, Michael grew up knowing the importance of Familia and how the Latino and Hispanic communities can come together to support one another. His desire to propel the community to new heights aligns perfectly with the Raices mission.

    Michael brings with him an impressive set of experiences and skills as a Program Manager, Leader, and Mentor and is a welcome addition to the Raices Cyber team!

  • Xavier D Martinez

    CHAPTER DEPUTY DIRECTOR

    Having a passion for Information Technology and all things “CYBER”, Xavier has pursued continuous education from an early age. Born in Chicago and moving to Puerto Rico during his freshman year of High School he took note of the lack of resources available on the Island. Going from Computer Lab to “El Campo” style education made a lasting impression concerning his future and the welfare of Puerto Rico; ultimately leading to his decision to enlist in the United States Navy.

    While stationed in San Diego, his goal was to be the first of his family to attend college. He enrolled in evening and weekend classes, completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology and Masters of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.

    Currently retiring from over 20 years of successful service within the Submarine Force, Xavier strives to continue his path forward while helping bridge opportunities and growth within his community.
